A network-first checklist for smoother live sports viewing on mobile and TV devices.
Find out whether the problem is local
Open another video service or run a normal speed test. If every service is slow, the issue is likely your connection rather than the app. Restart the router, reconnect Wi-Fi and test closer to the access point.
Choose a realistic video quality
High-definition live video needs a stable connection, not only a high peak speed. If quality controls are available, lower the resolution one step and observe the stream for several minutes. A stable medium-quality stream often looks better than HD that stops repeatedly.
Reduce competition for bandwidth
- Pause large downloads, cloud backups and game updates.
- Disconnect unused devices during an important match.
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi near the router and 2.4 GHz when farther away.
- Use Ethernet on Android TV when the device supports it.
Refresh the application cache
Close Rongy TV completely, open Android Settings → Apps → Rongy TV → Storage, and clear cache. Do not clear storage unless necessary because that can reset preferences. Restart the app and test again.
Consider congestion and source availability
Live sports traffic can spike just before a major event. If one channel buffers while others work, the issue may be specific to that stream. Try again after a short interval or use another available quality option. A VPN is not automatically a speed solution and can make the route slower.
Measure improvement for several minutes
Live video bitrate changes, so judge a fix over a consistent five-to-ten-minute test rather than a few seconds. Keep the same source and quality, count interruptions, then change only one variable such as Wi-Fi band, quality or background downloads. This produces a meaningful comparison.
Know when the connection is the real limit
If every video service performs poorly, focus on router load, signal strength or the internet provider. If other services and Rongy TV channels work but one source fails, the source is the stronger suspect. No app setting can create bandwidth that the connection does not provide.
Frequently asked questions
Does clearing cache delete the app?
No. Clearing cache removes temporary files. Clearing storage is different and may reset preferences.
Why does buffering happen only during major matches?
Large audiences can create congestion at the network or stream source. Local bandwidth competition can make it worse.
Will a VPN always stop buffering?
No. A VPN adds another network route and can improve or reduce performance depending on location and server load.
